Mexico onzas with the last bust. As previously noted, the 1772 reform introduced not only aesthetic changes but also fundamental ones, such as a revision of the coin’s silver content. The new portrait closely resembles the previous one, though with subtle adjustments to the nose, chin, wig, armour, etc. This type would remain in use without further alteration until the end of the reign (1772–1788). Onzas are presented here from every year of issue, including some specific varieties, such as inverted assayer or mintmarks.
